Celine Celebrates

Celine's Birthday Dinner at Kobe Jones, Sydney

Celine’s Birthday Dinner at Kobe Jones, Sydney

This would only be our second time in Kobe Jones, a posh Japanese restaurant in the heart of Sydney. It has great views, great food, excellent service but with a price tag that would require me take a second mortgage. Celine celebrates her birthday and even this young, she does not want to be reminded of her age. Of course, Jessica would just be too cheeky to stick it to her every chance she gets.

Our dinner conversation was the previous nights Australian Open Finals between Raffa and the Fed Express. We were all vying for Federer to claim his 14th title but we all conceded to Raffa’s herculean effort of a back-to-back 5 setter.

We were all laughing at the ensuing sports headline – “Nadal Wins – Federer Cries”. Though the girls love the FedEx for showing much emotions whether he wins or losses.

Then the food arrives. Jessica skipped the first two dishes. She’s adamant about not eating any seafood. The third dish was also just a skimp through for her as it was a very rare beef sushi. Celine and I enjoyed every dish, while Jeanne tried to avoid the beef. (It’s pretty much the same story at home, we could never agree on a menu). The meal was topped by a sampler of their best desserts – well, I just have to take the girls word for it because I didn’t have any :-)

Here’s a panoramic view from the table where we were sitting. I bet 50% of the bill was for the privilege to dine in this backdrop :-) .
